Laid Back in KC Mo.
13-July-2017
Kansas City Mo
For the last couple of days we've been taking it easy here in the Mid West.
We've done some sightseeing, some shopping, and some enhancement of the Gunship's armaments.
Ok, I installed a 12 volt fan.
Mostly we've been able to spend good time with our friends Pat and Frank and their dog Sadie.
We've visited some other friends and neighbors we just don't get much time to visit with.
It's been great
But, Its not been all fun and games.
Far From it.
Many towns boast of quality Bar-B-Que and Kansas City is no exception.
Where KC amazes any BBQ fan is not in the sheer quantity of quality joints.
They are everywhere and most all of them are good or very good
But KC has without a doubt two of the best BBQ joints on the planet.
Not only my words, but the words of people a lot smarter and dumber about BBQ than me.
I'm talking about Joe's and Bryant's.
We spent our times eating both & trying to decide if we preferred one to the other.
Less than 2 hours after we arrived in KC we were seated and eating at Bryant's..
It was truly as good as people said
Burnt Ends and Brisket were on the menu
Last night we hit Joes for ribs and some more brisket.
It was as good as I remember from the Gunships last roll through KC almost 2 years ago.
Time to pick a winner.
I was on the fence and Not quite ready to swear allegiance.
So, for lunch today I had some leftover ribs from Joes and a piece of Pat's most excellent blueberry pie.
That decided for me.
I'm a Joes guy.
We're off early tomorrow for the Badlands of South Dakota.
