Of tidal pools and marbled murrelets I will tell you
8-August-2017

Hurricane Ridge
Port Flattery
Shi Shi Beach
Hoh River Valley
We have spent the last 3 days in the northwesternmost part of the US.
Olympic national park is something else.
Mountain Tops and Glaciers like you would expect
Jagged fog shrouded coastlines just like in National Geographic.
But an actual Rain Forest Jungle in the middle of it all blew my mind!
The Hoh River Valley surpassed anything I could imagine when I considered a temperate rain forest.
Then enormity of the trees and everything else (mosses, ferns, even mycelium) growing underneath.
It reminded me so much of the jungles of panama. Things growing on other things that were growing on other things.
There was a lot of growing going on.
Most of it seemed painless.
Anyway, were sitting in Amanda Park on the south end gearing up for one more assault on yet another rainforest in Quinnalt.
Eating a pizza.
Drinking another fine northwest IPA.
